Search Engine Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) falls broadly into two categories:

Onsite Optimisation

This will cover things like content, meta data (more on that later), structure, navigation and other elements that effect the user experience (UX) and optimisation of the individual pages being optimised.

Offsite Optimisation

This will include things such as backlinks, banner ads and even PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns such as AdWords.

One very important element of offsite SEO is social. We'll cover this also as it can be a way of driving significant amounts of traffic to your website and in turn generating revenue.

Here we're more concerned with organic optimisation and the attraction of organic traffic so we'll only be covering onsite Optimisation and social here. That's not to say we don't manage PPC campaigns but rather that organic traffic is our focus.

We three types of audits available. The first, a 10 point website analysis, is designed to give you an overview of your website and where it's at with regards SEO and usability. Many of our new clients use this even though they have a design resource on hand to simply help them guide the design process and optimisation of an existing website.

Meta Data Reports

These are a detailed analysis of the meta data of your website. Not just the home page but every page we can access. This gives you invaluable insight as to why your website may not be ranking.

Technical SEO Checklist

This is a little more in depth. We'll work with you to ensure that your website is optimised from the ground up and work through each and every point on the list that's pertinent to your website.

We only ever complete this task while under retainer. The motive being that it's quite labour intensive and if you don't have an internal resource it's entirely likely that we'll do the work for you as part of the retainer.

The elements outlined here should also be executed by a seasoned professional or at the very least under the guidance of a seasoned professional because one minor change can well impact on other elements of the website optimisation and require thorough testing prior to going live.

This audit covers the main technical elements of a site and should help you uncover any issues that are holding a site back. As with any project, the deliverable is critical. I've found focusing on the solution and impact (business case) is the best approach for site audit reports. While it is important to outline the problems, too much detail here can take away from the recommendations.
