Joomla started life in 2005 and has grown exponentially since then. When it started life it was a very simple and effective content management system (CMS) and soon got picked up by web designers and developers.
We moved to using Joomla as a design tool almost exclusively some years ago simply because it reduced the costs, the development time and was easier to use for the end user than a hand coded system.
One of the added benefits for us is that it allows us to insert our own hand coding where required. For example, if a client needs a customised contact form we can create one very quickly and easily and pop it into Joomla. There are extensions available that will allow you to create custom forms but for a simple one page form we find PHP much quicker.
For those that like to get involved in site optimisation Joomla will provide you with a very easy to use interface for customising the content and meta data for any particular page.
For Bloggers and users that need to add content quickly and easily Joomla also has solutions.
As you read through our articles you'll find that Joomla is no where near as daunting as you might have thought it was and can actually save you hours and hours in adding content and managing your site.
In addition, you have us on hand to help when things get a little too technical.
